Should Christians Support Israel?

One of the most common complaints one hears from the Jewish people is that they are being falsely persecuted. Well, in reality, they are not so innocent. The majority of Christians falsely believe that God promised Israel eternal rights to the Holy Land.

The Arabs have more rights to the land than the Jews because they were included in the promise, and they stayed on the land to occupy it according to God’s promise, and have continued to occupy the entire area promised by God who listed all the tribes or nations that were to be included in the inheritance [Genesis 15:18].

The Arabs are the children of Ishmael. The mother of Abraham’s son Ishmael was Hagar the Egyptian, who had received a covenant promise: “I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count.” [Genesis 16:1-15]. Those descendants were Arabs, settling in Arab territory [Genesis, 25:13-18]

On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates-the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites. [Genesis, 25:18-21]

I have many articles on this subject, but I will expose here the ultimate lie that God currently has a covenant with the Jews:

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. [Hebrews, 8:6-7, 9]

Israel today is a shameful nation. Do you honestly believe God blesses any Christian who supports the Christ-rejecting Jews? Don’t be fooled, Jesus told the rabbis of his time that the kingdom of God had been taken away from them forever:

And Samuel said to him, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.” [1Samuel 15:28] and [Joshua 13:1-7]

Jesus said, “Therefore, I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it.” [Matthew, 21:43]

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the Ammonites. [Jos, 10:7]

The Jews are forbidden from possessing the land:

Through your own fault you will lose the inheritance I gave you. I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for you have kindled my anger, and it will burn forever. [Jeremiah 17:4]

Many true Torah Jews know this, which is why they protest against Israel saying that it is illegitimate.

Unbelieving Jews have absolutely no right to the promised land today [Hebrews 3:16-19].

The notion that Christ-rejecting Jews have been restored to their homeland is totally false and unbiblical.

They did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live by his instructions. They forgot what he had done the great wonders he had shown them. [Psalm 78:10-11]

For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest? Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting. [Jeremiah 15:5-6]

And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes: Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them. [2nd Kings 18:11-12]

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy. [2 Chronicles, 36:16]

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your father’s. [Matt, 23:29-32]

Supported by the Qur’an:

And [We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right and their saying, “Our hearts are wrapped.” Rather, Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few. [Qur’an, 4:155]

…And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah [upon them]. That was because they [repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were [habitually] transgressing. [Qur’an, 2:61]

For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews. Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men. Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. [1 Thessalonians 2:14-16]

Even Jesus placed a curse on the Jews: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.” [John 8:44]

Supported by the Qur’an:

“Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.” [Qur’an, 5:78]

Jesus told the Jews that Satan was their father. Yes, and Satan is still the father of the Jews.

When the Jews rejected their Messiah, God sent the Romans to dispossess the Jews from their land in 70 AD because of their disobedience, and worship of foreign gods.

God drove Israel from the land several times because of their disobedience. God would not have driven the Jews from the Holy Land if the promise had been eternal and unconditional.

The Biblical explanation is clear, the land was given to the Children of Israel conditionally:

The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. [Psalm, 37:29], But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity. [Psalm, 37:11], Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. [Matthew, 5:5]

It is true that God gave Palestine to the Hebrews in ancient times, but the Bible and Qur’an teaches that their possession of the land was under a conditional covenant with God. If they  disobeyed, they would lose the land. Israel failed several times and thereby broke the contract, or promise.
