The French president addressed the public on Wednesday and announced another four-week lockdown, so I have chosen to dedicate an article to homeschool families with links to completely FREE Islamic and secular curriculum and supplements that I have been using with my two children. These are through grades Pre-K to Grade 12.
Over the years I have been blogging about religion and world events, but as a parent of two children (five and eleven), I can’t imagine how difficult these times are, especially for families who were already struggling before the pandemic.
The main sites I use are Confessions of a Homeschooler, 1plus1plus1equals1, The Measured Mom, This Reading Mama, Kalamullah, Iman’s homeschool (my FAVOURITE) and TJ Homeschooling. For maths, we use Khan Academy and Nagwa. Scroll down for more.
During the first lockdown in March, I put the Honey Bee lapbook together using a Clairefontaine Art Folder:
This is just an example of activities you can do to help your children cope with boredom and isolation. As long as you have glue, craft paper, coloured pencils, a working printer and cartridge, then you’re all good to go!
Now, here is the list of completely FREE curriculum and supplements:
QURAN AND HADITH
THE SEALED NECTAR
A complete authoritative book on the life of Prophet Muhammad pbuh by Sheikh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarkpuri. It was honored by the World Muslim League as first prize winner book. This can be downloaded for free from Islam Future.

GOODWORD ISLAMIC STUDIES (GRADES 1-10)

STORIES OF THE PROPHETS
Books to help teach children about the stories of the Prophets of Islam. The Story of Adam (a.s), The Story of Nuh (a.s), The story of Ibrahim (a.s), The Story of Musa (a.s) and The Story of Eesa (a.s)
If you are teaching your children Arabic, I am using the Madinah Book Series, Arabic Without Tears, and Gateway to Arabic. You can find these books and audio CD’s hosted on Kalamullah. Iman’s homeschool produces Interactive Notebooking Pages and Practise Exercise Worksheets that can be used in conjunction with the Madinah Arabic Course books and the Madinah Arabic Reader books by Dr V. Abdur Rahim. She also has many other Arabic resources I use to supplement other workbooks.
The following printable McGraw Hill general ELA, grammar, and spelling workbooks for each grade level are also hosted on Iman’s Homeschool. I love the set of books by Glencoe-McGraw Hill as they do a great job teaching the children each year. We read these on a tablet as they tend to use up a lot of cartridge. I use a dry erase board for the spelling lists.
